Day 1: Haridwar to Uttarkashi

By Road :-

  • After breakfast, depart for Yamunotri by road.
  • Enroute, you can visit places like Tehri Dam, which is one of the largest hydroelectric projects in India.
  • Check-in to your hotel in Uttarkashi.
  • Spend the evening exploring the local market.

Day 2: Uttarkashi to Gangotri

By Road :-

  • After an early breakfast, drive to Gangotri, the holy town located at an altitude of 3,100 meters.
  • Enroute, visit places like Gangnani, known for its natural thermal springs.
  • Check-in to your hotel in Gangotri.
  • Visit the Gangotri Temple dedicated to Goddess Ganga in the evening and take part in the evening Aarti.

Day 3: Gangotri Sightseeing

  • Spend the day exploring the sacred town of Gangotri.
  • Visit the Bhagirathi Shila, a stone that is believed to be the spot where King Bhagirath meditated.
  • Take a dip in the icy-cold waters of the Ganges to cleanse your sins.

  • Return to your hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 4: Gangotri to Uttarkashi

By Road :-

  • After breakfast, drive back to Uttarkashi.
  • Visit the Vishwanath Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva.
  • Spend the evening at your leisure.

Day 5: Uttarkashi to Haridwar

By Road :-

  • After breakfast, start your journey back to Haridwar.
  • Enroute, you can visit the ancient town of Chamba and the beautiful Tehri Lake.
  • Arrive in Haridwar by evening.
  • Check-in to your hotel and relax.

Day 6: Departure

By Road :-

  • After breakfast, check out from your hotel.
  • Depending on your departure time, you can visit some local markets or temples in Haridwar.
  • Proceed to the railway station or bus stand for your onward journey.

By Air :-

  • Jolly Grant Airport is the nearest airport to Gangotri situated at a distance of 250 kms. Jolly Grant Airport is well connected to Delhi with daily flights and Gangotri is well connected by motorable roads with Jolly Grant Airport. you can also hire chopper services to Gangotri from Dehradun.

By Rail :-

  • Rishikesh railway station is considered as the nearest railway station which is almost 243 kilometers away from Gangotri. The railway station is located on NH58 and it takes few hours to reach the place.

By Road :-

  • Gangotri is well connected by motorable roads with major destinations of Uttarakhand state. Situated at the end of NH108, buses to Rishikesh are available from ISBT Kashmiri Gate, Delhi.
