About Badrinath

The most important Hindu religious path in the Himalayas, which is found in the Garhwal region of Uttarakhand state, in the past which was part of Uttar Pradesh. The path passes through four Hindu pilgrimage destinations – Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath.

About Badrinath

Badrinath is a sacred town located in the Chamoli district of the Indian state of Uttarakhand. It is situated in the Garhwal Himalayas, nestled between the Nar and Narayana mountain ranges. Badrinath is one of the most important pilgrimage sites in Hinduism and is part of the Char Dham Yatra, which also includes Yamunotri, Gangotri, and Kedarnath.

Day 1: Haridwar to Joshimath

By Road :-

  • Start your journey from Haridwar to Joshimath by road. It's a long drive, and the distance is approximately 270 kilometers. The journey can take around 10-12 hours, depending on road conditions and traffic. Upon reaching Joshimath, check into a hotel or guesthouse for the night. Rest and acclimatize yourself to the higher altitude

Day 2: Joshimath to Govindghat

By Road :-

  • After breakfast in Joshimath, drive to Govindghat, which is around 20 kilometers away. Govindghat is the starting point of your trek. Begin your trek to Ghangaria, which is about 13 kilometers from Govindghat. Stay overnight in Ghangaria, where there are accommodation options available.

Day 3:Ghangaria to Valley of Flowers and back

By Trek :-

  • Today, embark on a day trek to the Valley of Flowers, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its breathtaking beauty and diverse flora. After exploring the Valley of Flowers, return to Ghangaria in the evening.

Day 4: Ghangaria to Hemkund Sahib

By Trek :-

  • Trek from Ghangaria to Hemkund Sahib, a Sikh pilgrimage site located at an altitude of about 4,329 meters (14,200 feet). Hemkund Sahib is a steep ascent, so take your time and acclimatize properly. It's a round trip of about 12 kilometers. Visit the gurudwara (Sikh temple) and the pristine lake near Hemkund Sahib. Return to Ghangaria for an overnight stay.

Day 5: Ghangaria to Badrinath

By Road :-

  • Leave Ghangaria and trek back to Govindghat. From Govindghat, drive to Badrinath, which is around 25 kilometers away. Visit the Badrinath Temple and take in the spiritual atmosphere of this revered place. Check into a hotel in Badrinath for the night.

Day 6: Badrinath to Haridwar

By Road :-

  • After visiting the Badrinath Temple one more time, begin your journey back to Haridwar. The drive from Badrinath to Haridwar is long, so be prepared for another full day of travel/li>

By Air :-

  • The nearest airport to Badrinath is Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun, which is located at 308 km. From Delhi, you can board a flight for Dehradun and from there, you can travel by road or helicopter. From the Sahastradhara helipad, you can also board a helicopter to Badrinath Dham.

By Rail :-

  • The nearest Railway Station is Haridwar Railway Station and is connected by the all major cities of Uttarakhand. It is situated on the New Delhi-Dehradun railway line and is linked with the cities like Rishikesh, Haridwar and Rudraprayag.

By Road :-

  • Badrinath is easily accessible by road. It is located at a distance of 525 Km from Delhi & 296 Km from Rishikesh. There are regular buses operating to Badrinath from Delhi, Haridwar and Rishikesh. Regular buses operate from Rishikesh bus station to Badrinath and start very early before dawn.
